Blog #11 Satan’s Strategy: The Emerging Church Part 1 By Brandon Wyse

Satan’s Strategy: Dangerous Doctrines

The Emerging Church Part 2

Coming in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that witnesseth with the Holy Spirit. We began the three aspects of another spirit, another gospel, and another Jesus and how they are being taught in many, but not all, of these high-tech emerging churches. The subtlety and deception that most of the believers attending do not even see… and if they don’t see, they are in the dark. So we continue:

DIFFERENT GOSPEL

I John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

Now you’ll think… but they teach Jesus in these churches? People get saved by the boat loads? Sing about Jesus(sorta). But many are being subtly duped into a false gospel. How subtle? Look at the verse below—

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Proverbs 5:3-4 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

Take a moment to read Proverbs verse above and then the Hebrews’ verse – you’ll see how similar her ways are, but there’s just almost an unperceivable difference that many will miss.

The “er” two little letters changes the whole meaning. Her word is “sharp” as a two-edged sword, but God’s is “sharper.” Looks very similar, but two little letters change the whole meaning from as sharp – to sharper. And that’s a big difference. This is the ever so sleight differences in the real Word and the fake word. You just leave a few things out, and BAM! Most believers will think it’s the same – but it’s the difference between life and death.

If there was a man who knew about adultery and seducing spirits, it was Solomon with 700 wives and 300 concubines, who led him astray: Read I Kings 11:3. And chapters 5, 6, and 7 in Proverbs is a roadmap of knowing God’s Word to keep you from the “strange” woman.

I Corinthians 11:9-10 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

The real gospel aims not to please men, but save them. As stated, these emerging churches are all about pleasing men. Men don’t want boring churches. They want entertainment, and instead of the church dictating the way to salvation.... the Sinner says he doesn’t want old hymns on the blood of Jesus. Doesn’t want messages that make him feel “convicted.” Doesn’t want dress codes so he’s free to lust at skimpy shorts, abs, and tight jeans. He wants a free setting to drink lattes and videos using worldly clips from movies to entertain him. At these churches… It’s the sinner telling the church what to do and not the church telling the sinner what he needs.

2 Corinthians 11: 5-8 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles. 7 Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? 8 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

If you read this whole chapter, Paul by the Holy Spirit was discussing these “chiefest apostles” that had already sprung up going around in pomp and notoriety. These were the mega evangelists back then that were taking monies everywhere, while Paul was taking money given to his ministry to help the Corinthian church in need. He had lowered himself in order to lift up the Corinthians free of charge. He was not a burden to them asking for money or anything. You see all these big preachers in Paul’s time wanted the vanity of recognition… while unbeknownst to them, Jesus was writing most of the New Testament through Paul, not these high-fallutin preachers.

BIG CHURCHES

Jesus showed us how to do it. He preached to 5,000 men plus women and children with no big church. He kept moving all over. Well, times have changed, they’ll say… well times may have, but Jesus doesn’t change.

Paul and the disciples were always pounding the pavement – or dirt back then. When’s the last time you saw a mega pastor organize his church to hit the streets and preach the gospel and heal the sick? Churches were used as home bases in Acts to strengthen disciples, and Jesus was sending His disciples out to towns and villages – it was never about getting them to just sit at the church once or twice a week. You don’t need a big giant church to preach the gospel. It makes believers lazy and that they just need to attend church twice a week and that’s it – that’s not the great commission Jesus gave us – it’s another gospel!!!

You could have five on fire anointed Holy Ghost filled believers, or 120 like in the upper room, go out and storm the city with the kingdom of Heaven. You meet to edify, get down sound doctrine, praise God and fellowship – these huge churches make you a number, not a person.  And you will definitely see a difference in how you are treated in the church, ESPECIALLY if you are a "Cheerful Giver".

Matthew 6:1-5 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

These super preachers were doing it all before men, and you see no books of theirs in the NT. These televangelists today and mega preachers parade on what this church and that church is doing for the world to see…but what’s their real motive? They want others to send more money to pay for their excess salaries and inflated church programs. They get no reward from God. Paul wrote letters and visited all the churches he could in person. Jesus said give in secret – not stand at a telethon and present thousand dollar checks to this charity and that charity while they’ve really raised a million.

WHAT’S THIS OTHER GOSPEL IN DETAIL

To finish after Paul went on about these big preachers…

2 Corinthians 11:12-15 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

The Word says that fake apostles want glory as the “real” apostles, even trying to duplicate miracles like the real apostles. These magnanimous men serving these phony churches want what the real apostles had, but don’t. Have you noticed a lot of these big charismatic churches preach healing, but not many get healed like the church in Acts did? Not that some don’t because they have faith that God will – but in proportion to the real church in Acts, it’s very few healings.

They want the glory, to be someone in the televised Christian community – but those little preachers wanting no glory, taking to the streets, preaching the whole Word are the real apostles. I’m not saying all “big” churches are bad – but look for these identifying marks in anyone by the end of this blog, and you’ll know it’s God who chooses who’s great, not man.

So the rest of the verse tells you that these “chiefest apostles” are deceivers, transforming THEMSELVES into apostles of Christ. Also says they are ministers of Satan – whose end shall be according to their works.

We’re in the great falling away from faith and sound doctrine – falling for other doctrines of demons. So if the whole Word of God isn’t preached – it’s like eating half a meal.

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

So we know the Lord is coming soon. The prophecies weigh in that we’re in the last of the last days, and Jesus said when He returns, will He find faith on the earth? This shows the prophecy that these last day churches aren’t operating in faith, nor the full word of God.

COTTON CANDY SERMONS

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

 – so faith is also lacking. It’s now faith by “the WORLD of God” that these churches are veering you toward with material blessings and sustaining life. They repeat these mantras of being the “best you” and positive thoughts to drive where YOUR life wants to go… it’s no longer standing on believing in God… but yourself.
If you think it’s all this peachy-clean lifestyle, the flock is being deceived, and when they go home wondering why things aren’t going right, they think God’s punishing them, or they’re not doing something right. They look at all these smiling preachers talking about the “best life now” and say this and you’ll be that. It’s really witchcraft, law of attraction, and doctrines of demons that gets believers distressed wondering why they aren’t having their “best life now.” Well these ministers are having their best life now, because they won’t when it’s over – they’re having their best life now because of all the money believers are coughing over to them, so the unknowing believer can have “their best life” that never seems to come out of empty words.

Casting spells/Witchcraft

Paul did not have it easy, just read 2 Corinthians 6: 3-10 (paraphrasing) in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses… In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults… sorrowful, poor… as deceivers, and yet true;

The true were called false because like today, these super apostles tell everyone it’s up to you and your thoughts – and it’s all an awesome lifestyle. That’s easy for them to say when they collect huge checks, fly in Lear jets, limos, and have multi-million dollar houses off the church’s money… but Paul, a real apostle, wasn’t living like that, nor the other real apostles of Christ. More on the prosperity false doctrine later.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Many believers today will not go to a service that teaches on the “convicting” things. They surround themselves with ministers that are all positive with fortune cookie feel-good quips, and wouldn’t dare say something negative.

I Timothy 4:1-6 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; verse 6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

These verses are a last days prophecy – and you see the word seducing spirits. When you’re being seduced, it’s a relaxed state. All feels good. All looks good. And a good minister of Christ teaches all the doctrine.

Revelations 2:20-22 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

ACTUAL FLYER FROM A CHRISTIAN CHURCH!

You may say, well they aren’t telling us to go out and have sex – well, actually some churches are teaching on casual sex, or God’s gift of the marriage bed… but it goes much deeper. When believers are deceived into these false doctrines of demons, it’s as the act of fornication and adultery because we are espoused to be married to Jesus Christ as His bride – so this is adultery in the spiritual sense. And that jeapordizes unsuspecting believers to be subject to “great tribulation.”

God many times called Israel a prostitute for indulging in practices with other gods, or certain sins. Here’s one of many verses:

Jeremiah 3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks. Read also Leviticus 20: 2-8profaning the defiling the sanctuary of god and giving seed to other gods. These are still the other Jesus.

This was God’s chosen people, and we have become the spiritual Israel – the new covenant of God.

Now these messages people hear are always “positive.” Uplifting!!! Encouraging!!! Yeah!!!! No!!!! You can do this and that… and most of these mega preachers quote these positive quotes from everyone from celebrities to secular philosophers to motivational speakers, all but the Word of Jesus. Surrounding themselves with many teachers telling them what they want to hear, not what they need to hear.

EGO!

Well, I feel good leaving that place. Is it a seducing spirit? Go to a rock concert. Go to a motivational speaker like Tony Robbins – you’ll leave those seminars feeling good, on top of the world, and like you can conquer life in one bound – same “feeling” as these churches – but it’s not the Word of God. So when they’re quoting these self-help gurus, philosophers, and motivational speakers… it’s a different gospel.

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

They are not the same gospel – church is for the Word.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

You seeing any rebuking going on… correcting? Now, you scold a child, they don’t want to hang around you… they go to another room to pout. And these mega churches will distort the Word of God so they don’t lose members, so no reproofing…

Matthew 16:23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

They aren’t savouring the things of God, but the things of men. That’s who they’re there to please – not the real Jesus. Stay here… the seductress tempts… we have only positive things. None of those heart heavy messages to live by God and not the world. Come on in, we’ll make it comfortable for you. NO! We have the real Comforter of God – we don’t need your comforting harlot of Babylon!!!

Remember – everything God does, Satan wants to emulate but the devil wants the glory. So the Holy Spirit comforts… spirit of Jezebel comforts a different way. Jesus is the Lion of Judah… Satan’s the roaring lion…

2 Corinthians 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

They’ll say, the Bible really doesn’t tell you to spank your child – in this tradition back in this – stop! Word says we don’t follow the traditions of men. Mark 7:8.

They’ll always find a way of what the Word “really” means, so anything they declare “negative” is changed to be positive.

2 Corinthians 4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

They are deceitfully handling the Word of God to fit men’s comfort. Not the same Comforter.

CUT AND PASTE THE WORD OF GOD

You can bet your bottom “dollar” that the larger the church, the less of the whole New Testament is taught and definitely less of the old. They’ll avoid convicting scriptures. They won’t be talking on “not conforming to the world,” but on change, being hip and anything to bring more people – which means more money &  bigger churches. And they’ll charge for every event and speak heavily on tithes like Jesus did – not?

John 16:18 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

This is what the Holy Spirit brings, so when they’re saying “we’re letting the Holy Spirit move.” Are you? Because faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God –so if you’re not speaking on these parts of the Word – how can the Holy Spirit be allowed to do His job in their hearts? And if the Holy Spirit isn’t reproving of sin, righteousness, and judgment – what spirit are you allowing into your church?

You’ll notice many churches have these doctrinal statements alluding that they follow all of the Word of God – but if you attend these churches you won’t hear all the Word preached – not hell, other than a half-second brush over – no repentance – judgment, wrath of God in end times – nothing about unbelievers, or any hot seat scriptures that would allow the Holy Spirit to convict. They’ll spend mass amounts of effort in preaching on tithes and giving to the church – but not necessarily giving to the poor. You won’t hear rebukes to not leading a Holy lifestyle, and you won’t hear anything on false doctrines, or prophets, or a whole lot on Satan’s strategies, except a quick brush over on him wanting to steal, kill, & destroy your joy.

Nothing on persecutions produce perseverance, or chastisements by God. They will focus on blessings, prosperity, an abundant life, gifts, Holy Spirit, (which is good) love, (which is good) faith to get whatever –  Healing is fully taught, which is good, but an emphasis that basically you’ll be here for a long time – which if you study the Word and commune with the Holy Spirit, He’s not going to be telling you that the world isn't going to be here very much longer in its present state. They won’t be speaking on Jesus’ rebuking the Pharisees for their self-righteous acts, or anything Jesus said that was stern like – if you love me, keep my commands. They won’t go into extant detail on works of the flesh that may convict some – they’ll say all shame and guilt is of the devil, which isn’t scriptural. They may be confusing conviction with shame and guilt, and there’s no condemnation in Christ (which they’ve taken out of context) no fear of the Lord is taught – or hard lessons of the Old Testament. And you definitely won’t hear the orderly and modest women stuff in Timothy and Corinthians. No Six Woes, antichrist, Cost of being a Disciple (full revelation),repent or perish, Sign of Jonah, watchfulness, narrow door won’t be taught in case some other religions show up, hypocrites, and many other scriptures… And there should always be more love taught by God than anything – But when none of these assumed “negative” topics are taught, how can a church claim to be speaking on the “whole” Word of God? So let God bring sorrow on their state of being and you can’t do it with these cotton candy messages that look great – but the minute you taste it no matter how big it looks, it dissolves in your mouth and it is SO easy to swallow.

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

They will have all fortune cookie inspirational tokens and sayings going on. There won’t be a message that would discourage or upset anyone. Peter by the Holy Spirit told what needed to be said…

Acts 2:37-38 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

They say accept Jesus because He loves you(which He does) but you’ll have this smooth sailing, fancy pain free life because God is a cosmic genie – He’ll grant you prosperity – knock it off!!!

They won’t be speaking on this verse, it’s too judgmental…

2 Corinthians 5:10-11 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

They tell unbelievers how desperate God is for them, instead of telling them how desperate they are in need of God. I am not saying God doesn’t bless, or He’s up there counting lightning bolts for when you mess up – but He’s called us to be set-apart, not partake of the world.

They’re deceived and they’re deceiving others.

Revelations 22:18 says you must not take away the Words of this book of prophecy – you must speak all that is in the book.

The Word was with God since the beginning of time, so the entire Bible is prophecy foretelling of what was, is, and is to come.

Jesus was the Word since the beginning with God, John 1:1-2, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy – so it’s the whole book.  Also see Revelations 19:10.

2 Corinthians 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
Speak God’s word in the church – not these long drawn out illustrations of one verse with all this text book said this, or this historical rabbinical excerpt said this. Scientific data on relationships backs up this… and whatever they do to avoid speaking only The Word!!!

WE ARE SET APART!

So this worldly “feel good” imitation sets in, and seduces believers in – and surely is not guiding unbelievers to the real gospel and sound doctrine –so they’re set up for Satan to swipe the word right from their heart, like is stated in the parable of the sower – more on that in a future blog.

2 Kings 17:15 They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them, “Do not do as they do.”

But most of these emerging churches are looking more like the world every day.

2 Chronicles 36:14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the Lord which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

Ezekiel 11: 12 and ye shall know that I am the Lord: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.

NOTRIETY AND VAINITY

And once faithful men of God find themselves coveting these other Vegas style churches… wanting huge congregations, huge salary, and huge recognition. The New Testament is slammed with the trials that Paul and the apostles when through, being abhorred and hated by the world… it is not the same church today. They want the prestigious spots on television… just like the Pharisees and Sadducees did--without satellite.

John 12:42-43 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: 43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

These churches will be quick to tell an attendee, if you don’t like it, find another church – all reverse psychology that actually makes attendees want to stay because they “keep it real” and that’s it’s the “real” church. Let a deacon or associate pastor try to bring up true doctrine to the shepherd, and he’ll find himself thrown out for not conforming and wanting to progress the church further along.

Luke 14:11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

These under the other doctrines exalt themselves – parading on secular talk shows, or flexing their muscle in politics – they want prestige. And saying, "That's some good preaching", just to get a pat on the back, and the congregation clapping.
See how the smaller churches, a lot of them fundamental are being swallowed up…

http://www.economywatch.com/news/infographic-megachurches-megabusinesses.05-09.html

Holy Spirit is teaching is truth. He won’t force it on these preachers if they read those perceived “negative” verses and fly right over them, shielding their eyes. They have to willingly forsake the Word, or be willing to act on the truth.

TO THE CONGREGATIONS

When you see mega pastors follow in the footsteps of this “super apostles” like Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, etc… you can see why they have confusing spirits surrounding them… you’d have to ask why haven’t our pastors seen the negative stuff on them?

You only have to hit a Google bar and find out. One, they don’t want to see it because they want to be them. Two, if confronted with the negative accusations your pastors won’t pray, ask the Holy Spirit, or search the Word on it – they’ll just retort in defense of their “idols”… “The naysayers are just jealous of their success.” While the mega preachers are coveting the more famous mega preachers… wanting to soar to their heights – just like the devil wanting to soar to God’s height in heaven.

I Corinthians 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

People today will be into Chrislam, Contemplative prayer, centering prayer, mantras, power thoughts and formulas, using repetitious prayers over finances, prosperity, all anchoring back to materialism,  & youthful bodies. And a myriad of teachers… Trying to reach God any way and everywhere – well it’s not God you’re reaching – it’s the devil. Any pastor gets on any of these things mentioned – it’s another Gospel. If you’ve asked Jesus into your heart and believe all that He says in the Word – you have to look no further than right inside you for Jesus. The Holy Spirit will write the Word on your heart. So don’t fall for any of these New Age practices being brought into the church – it’s doctrines of demons and straight on witchcraft with benign names. The names have changed, but not the practice – it’s sorcery right in the church.
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

If God does it, man takes the glory. If man does it, they’ll boast in their “mega church” numbers in the church they built. Believe me, the excuse will be at judgment – I didn’t know… but Jesus has given us everything to identify these false spirits, false gospels, and false Jesus… right in the Holy Word of God! And the Holy Spirit to teach us all things, not Joels and so and so. Anytime witchcraft is mentioned in the Bible, the word idolatry is not far from it.

These churches can’t run with the world and think they’re eating from the same table:

I Corinthians 10:21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

And this verse leads us into the Other Jesus… and if you’re unknowingly eating at his table, it’s time to excuse yourself quickly…

This may be offensive to some people attending these churches… this is not the intent. It is exposing the strategies of the devil – search your heart, and the Holy Spirit on this matter before our Father in heaven. It is a hard thing to swallow. It was for me personally – but I go to the Lord and just ask for the truth. He’ll show you in His Word like these verses above do.

It is with sorrow that so many are falling away to this seducing spirit and false gospel and don’t even know it. Pray about it, and when the Lord opens your eyes if you let Him, you’ll know the course you have to take, even if it’s giving up these entertainment venues for the whole Word of God in a smaller church. God will guide you, but you must be willing to listen. Remember what happened to Saul when Samuel told him what God wanted him to do and he wanted to do his own thing? Saul had so many demons surrounding him that he couldn’t even rest without music being played for him.

Jesus wants to protect you – so watch! And be awake!

With great love, we’ll continue next week with… another Jesus – the opposite of Jesus, which is the spirit of antichrist, and how thick he’s got his fangs in some of these churches.

Love and God bless!
